Project #7
Here are my two images for the photo stamp exercise. The first image is of the Rialto Bridge in Venice. I think its an interesting pattern created, especially the way the water in the picture creates a void in the middle. The second image is of a fence, which is old and beat up. I was interested to see how the repetition of the fence posts would play out in this problem.
Project #6
Here are two of my negative/positive space images. These are both based on a letter. The top one is my image that is 80% positive and the bottom is the one that is close to 50/50. On my fotothing account I have a few more images of the letter, as well as the exercise from the beginning of the project which is abstract designs in the box.

project four
Hear is my project four I liked this assignment kind of brings out some creativity in oneself. Slide one and two are almost the same but totally inverted.

Project #5
This was another very enjoyable assignment. I was surprised at how unrecognizable the letter became and how interesting the designs became the more you replicated the design. I chose the letter K in a fairly loopy, scripted font. This led to a number of different designs based on the point around which the letter was rotated.
Project #4
I uploaded all of the grids for this project, I had a lot of fun with this one. My favorite is the top right grid of 16, where I inverted the black and white and mirrored that. I think it made a really cool pattern. The bottom right reminds me of dominoes. I am red/green color blind, and all of these remind me of when the doctors tested me for it.

Project #3
Here are my grids for project #3. Its interesting how different they all look when they are all put together rather than on their own. I was also surprised at how the grids, especially my second one posted here, create patterns with the positive and negative spaces.
Project #2
Here is my Project #2... hopefully this is what we were supposed to do. I posted two of the smaller "tiles" selected from the larger.
Project #1
Here are two of my examples from project one. The rest can be viewed on my fotothing: http://www.fotothing.com/ccburnell/

Bio
Hello all, my name is Cullen Burnell and I'm a senior history major living in Litchfield, CT with my girlfriend, a very talented interior design and architecture student. As for me, I currently work in the sports media business. My apologies for not posting anything before now, but I've been dealing with some technical difficulties that I've just been able to sort out. I have never taken a class like this one in my entire college career and I certainly hope that I come out unscathed.
